The Lilly Brothers are an up-and-coming North Carolina based rock band, prominent in the Lexington/Winston Salem area. With a wide range of influences that soar anywhere from The Allman Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, to Ryan Adams and even Sublime, The Lilly Brothers provide a unique, soulful, and energetic sound that almost anyone can appreciate.
Formed in February of 2014 as a side project to help with healing the emotional wounds of a lost brother and friend, Josh Lilly (late brother of lead guitar player Chandis Lilly), the band turned to music as a form of therapy. Fresh out of another group by the name Carolina Moonshine, which didn’t work out due to internal conflict, guitar player Chandis, bass player Ty Cheves, and drummer Clay Temple were looking for a new direction than the previous bands they had played with. In the market for a little more creative freedom, they came together and decided on the recruitment of front man, and longtime friend, Brad Pruette.
